In this hands-on workshop you learn about the history and techniques while creating your own ‘Hellebore’ sampler based on Jacobean embroidery.

Jacobean, also known as Crewelwork, is traditional embroidery associated with the 16th and 17th Centuries.   In this one day workshop, you will learn a selection of the traditional Jacobean stitches to create a ‘Hellebore’ sampler. You will be using silk threads on silk Dupion, this is quite fine work so some stitching experience is needed. 

Materials provided: Fabric and threads are supplied as part of the workshop fee. 

Bring your own: 8 inch embroidery hoop.
