Learn how to create one of the most durable materials – felt. Following a quick chat about the history of felt and how it is made, you will start by making a basic flat piece of felt. Once everyone has the idea, we will go on to create some more elaborate pieces. We look at how to blend in non-wool items such as silk hankies and tying in artefacts to create 3D shapes in the felt. A variety of wool, different breeds and some blends, undyed and dyed will be used on the day. Each person makes at least 3 pieces to take away with them and the information to keep felting.
Additional fleece will be available to buy on the day, so you can go home and experiment. Book in and enjoy!
Materials provided: Felting equipment and supplies are included as part of the workshop fee.
Bring your own: gloves, apron and, maybe, some wool to experiment.
