‘Time for Tea! Free Motion Applique’ is a beginner’s workshop to introduce participants to the basics of free motion embroidery using a straight stitch. We will learn how to set up the machine for free motion stitching then learn how to use fabric to create an attractive applique before outlining and adding detail in free motion embroidery. Our theme for the day will be ‘Time for Tea’, imagery will be provided by the tutor or participants are welcome to adapt this to a simple image of their own, with Kate’s support. Come and enjoy the day, we will have time for tea and more! 

Materials included: 8” embroidery hoop, steam a seam, fabrics, glue, etc. 

Bring your own: sewing machine (with drop/covered feed dogs) for free motion embroidery, machine manual, ordinary sewing foot, free motion foot, basic sewing kit (threads, fabric scissors, spare machine needles, etc), pen, notepad/sketchbook.
