Begin to make narrative patterns on your rigid heddle loom with 'overshot' weaving.  You will warp, weave and design during the day to create a pictogram (letters & symbols) with personal meaning. This course is suitable for all levels from beginners onwards, but some knowledge with rigid heddle weaving will allow you to progress with greater complexity.  

In one day, you will work your tutor, Sarah, to warp up a small rigid heddle warp, design your pictogram and weave your 'overshot'  pattern.  You may even wish to design a personalised 'valentine' for someone special.

Materials provided: A variety of solid coloured cotton will be provided on the day.

Bring your own: rigid heddle loom, 7.5dpi reed,  & loom  equipment (shuttle, threading hook, warping peg & clamp), scissors,  variegated cotton yarns of your own (if desired).  

Please note: If you would like to try a loom we have a couple  Ashford rigid heddle looms that can be used on the day for this  workshop, but they are limited so get in touch to see if you can borrow a  loom and then book your place!
