Come and learn how to transform the stems of flax into beautiful fibre and spin it into linen yarn. If you are considering having a go at growing your own flax this is an excellent opportunity to learn about processing your crop.

Come and learn how to transform the stems of flax into beautiful fibre and spin it into linen yarn.
If you are considering having a go at growing your own flax this is an excellent opportunity to learn about processing your crop.
The day will include:
- An Introduction to Flax
- Demonstration and practice of processing techniques like: rippling, scutching, hackling
- Making a cone distaff
- Spinning on a drop spindle
No experience necessary, you just need enthusiasm for flax!
All materials and equipment will be supplied.
Please bring your own: face mask (processing flax can be very dusty), apron, pen and notebook.
If you are a spinner you are welcome to bring your spinning wheel.
