In one evening, learn the basics to spin a true woollen-spun yarn from carded rolags to create a lofty, stretchy and soft yarn that is light and full of air while also warm and cosy. Long draw spinning techniques are the foundation of creating woollen spun yarns. Woollen spun yarns are traditionally used to create light but insulating, warm yarns commonly used for knitting.
This is an intermediate workshop. Knowledge and some experience of spinning is required as is your own spinning wheel and fibre to develop your spinning knowledge. Rosie, your tutor, is an experienced spinner who will demonstrate and guide you through the technique.
In this evening session you will learn to create your rolags and spin long draw so that you can continue at home to develop your skills.
