During this masterclass with Stewart Kelly you will explore the possibilities of combining drawing, colour, mixed media, paper as fabric and stitched textile techniques. It is an experimental workshop based on exploration and discovery through making. Therefore, the creative experience takes priority over the completion of a ‘project’. You will come away from the day with more confidence in developing ideas, potentials and how to expand your toolkit for your own development. Masterclass Outline: 

09.30 – Welcome & Introductions 

10.00 – Sensory Drawing Session – 6 x 20 minute drawing activities exploring line, texture and colour. 

LUNCH 

13.00 – Exploring Hand Stitch Session – embellishing drawings with hand stitch. 

16.00 – Reflection & Feedback 

Materials provided: all drawing materials for morning session 

Bring your own: Needles, embroidery threads, scissors (basic hand sewing kit), pencil/pen, notebook and experimental threads like cord or wire.
